How To Treat Hypertension In Your Child
High blood pressure has been an ongoing national health problem for decades. More than 1/3 of all adults in the U.S. have high blood pressure and most don’t even know it because there are no symptoms. Ant that’s why, learning how to lower high blood pressure sensibly or how to control high blood pressure naturally should be near the top of everyone’s list.
If hypertension is not treated, it can lead to stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, and eye problems.
Every year millions of dollars are spent on awareness campaigns to make more people aware of the danges of high blood pressure. And yet, still so many seem unconcerned about it. Even more disheartening is that the incidence of high blood pressure in children is on the rise. This has occurred mainly in the last ten years and is mainly due to more and more children being overweight or obese.
A primary reason for the lack of awareness among many people with high blood pressure is that they do not go to the doctor on a regular basis. Maybe they can’t afford to. Maybe they don’t have the time. Possibly they’re afraid of doctors.
But, no matter the reason. The only way to tell for sure if your your child has high blood pressure is to have her blood pressure checked by a physician or health care provider. It’s simple, it takes almost no time, and it’s important to do.
Heredity obviously plays a very large role in determining if some one will develop hypertension. But, there are things that we all can do to decrease the chance that our kids get it or to help alleviate it once they do have it. Particularly, there are many little known herbs that lower blood pressure.
The beginning of it all is diet. If your child is hooked on fast foods, her diet is going to have to change. Researchers have long known that a risk factor for high blood pressure is being poor. People with low extremely low incomes tend to eat more fast foods. Why? Because fast foods are comparatively inexpensive. But they also contain lots of fats and salt - the two primary diet triggers associated with high blood pressure. And that’s why a diet change is mandatory if you want to bring down high blood pressure.
